April 30 - Clyde Smith Shelter (368.2)

Not much to report, another day of hiking. No rain, though it threatened, and the wind was very brisk. I came up to the sign for the shelter about 30 minutes before expected, and continued on the Trail for a quarter mile or more before realizing my error. Meant going back up and over a hill I'd just already crossed.

Tomorrow is Roan Mountain, the last mountain over 6,000 feet until New Hampshire, and 2,200 of elevation in four miles. Will see if it's worth staying at that shelter versus pushing on since its shelter, at 6,194, is the highest on the AT.
